EMPTY SPACES at MUG in Forte dei Marmi
Giacomo Bertozzi’s exhibition at MUG in Forte dei Marmi presents recent works and key historical strands of his artistic practice, including drawings, portraits and unsettling figures.
POSTI VUOTI is on show at MUG in Forte dei Marmi, an exhibition dedicated to Giacomo Bertozzi, known as EECORPSE. It brings together recent and previously unseen works, and revisits two central strands of his output: the Rusty Papers series and the portrait cycle.
Works and themes
The artist’s practice spans portraits, cartoon-inspired illustrations, and grotesque, distorted figures. The works explore alienation, individualism, psychological torment and the darker regions of the psyche. The technique combines ink, charcoal and pencil on paper with digital interventions; strong black-and-white contrasts predominate, sometimes punctuated by pastel accents.
The exhibition is presented as an emotional and introspective journey, shaped by the artist’s travels and direct experiences. The curators have brought together works that reflect different stages of his development.
