From 27 November 2026 to 6 January 2027, the Consorzio Sarzana Vitae’s Christmas project brings markets, festive lights, decorations and fifteen entertainment events to Sarzana’s historic centre and neighbourhoods. The events are part of the town’s Christmas programme, which will conclude on 10 January.
Programme
- A Christmas market with ten wooden huts, planned for Piazza Matteotti or, alternatively, various areas of the historic centre.
- Festive lights and decorations along the Calcandola route and on the new cycle and pedestrian bridge, as well as in Bradia, Grisei, Marinella, Crociata, Trinità, Sarzanello, Nave, Falcinello and San Lazzaro.
- In Grisei, in collaboration with Coop Liguria, reindeer-shaped lights are planned for the Centroluna roundabout, along with a Christmas tree at another roundabout. In Marinella, some areas of the village will be illuminated; in Crociata, the decorations will extend to the playground.
- Christmas trees will also be placed near recreational clubs and at other locations around the town.
- The fifteen events include an event at Sabbadini and an initiative for people with disabilities, in collaboration with the councillor for Social Policies.
Organisation
The project was presented by Consorzio Sarzana Vitae and approved by the Town Council. It has a total cost of 60,000 euros: the council is contributing 45,000 euros, and the Consorzio will raise the remaining amount. A budget of 20,000 euros is allocated to the market, decorations and lighting, 25,000 euros to festive lights and decorations, and 15,000 euros to the entertainment events.
