Women protagonists of the Risorgimento: a meeting with Simonetta Ronco

On 15 October 2026 at 16:00, a meeting dedicated to the book Dai salotti alle barricate. Donne protagoniste del Risorgimento by Simonetta Ronco will be held at Liceo classico Costa in La Spezia. The author will be present. Admission is free and open to everyone.
The meeting
The event is organised by Società Dante Alighieri della Spezia and curated and chaired by Dr Annalisa Coviello. Published by Macchione Editore in 2024, the book tells the stories of little-known female figures of the Risorgimento, from the first insurrectionary movements to the breaching of Porta Pia.
The event is linked to the project Mnemosine – Donne nell’ombra, founded by Ronco in 2018 to bring forgotten female figures back to public memory. The meeting takes place at Liceo classico Costa and reaffirms the school’s cultural role in the local area.
